1/28/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Friday

My consultant is definitely my biggest cheerleader.  I told her last night that I feel like giving up because I'm working so hard with not a lot of motivation to continue.  She called nutrition who said it usually takes women 6-8 months for their bodies to return to normal.  I'm supposed to be patient and they think it will be a gradual just slow weight loss.  I'm trying to stay positive and tell myself I'm not going to return to my previous body weight in just a few months.  My consultant and I came up with a plan after she looked at patterns in my history with the program.  I had the best losses when I kept "shocking" my metabolism.  If I worked out too much, did the same exercise for a few weeks, ate the same foods for a few weeks, my body got to used to things and basically would plateau.  So we're going to keep changing up how much I workout and what I eat.  Hopefully this will keep my body guessing what is coming next.  We talked about how all people's bodies eventually get used to too much of the same thing but mine just gets sick of things much quicker (like two weeks of the same thing and the loss will stop).  This is definitely a journey.  I'm so blessed to have a beautiful boy but I have worked SO hard on losing the weight and I refuse to be large again.  It definitely has me thinking we will not try to get pregnant for a few years so I can have my body back for awhile.  Is that selfish?  I guess to some I sound self-absorbed and maybe it's true but no one can fully grasp the ridicule I went through as a kid and the battles I experienced as a teenager and young-adult.  I'm truly terrified I've becoming what I once was and maybe this means that at some point I will need to talk to someone to overcome my anger, sadness, and frustration with my body.
